CFL's: A compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), though often a little more expensive than an incandescent light bulb, will save about $30 over its lifetime and pay for itself in about 6 months as it uses 75% less energy and lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb. CFL's emit good, even light however, unless otherwise noted they cannot be used with a dimmer. Please keep in mind, because of the mercury content, CFL's may require special waste handling (please check with your states lamp disposal policies).

Fluorescents: Like CFL's, fluorescent tubes use 75% less energy and last about 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs. Emitting good, even light, fluorescent bulbs are ideal for use in garages, kitchens, bathrooms & office settings. Unless otherwise noted, fluorescent lamps cannot be used with a dimmer. Please keep in mind, as well, because of the mercury content, fluorescent light bulbs may require special waste handling (please check with your states lamp disposal policies).
Halogens: Halogen bulbs have approximately 2000 life hours, about double that of a standard incandescent. Most people enjoy halogen bulbs for the bright, white-colored light they emit. To ensure full life of your halogen bulb, however, try not to touch it with your bare hand as sometimes the oil from your skin can decrease the bulbs life hours. Use clean gloves or a lint free cloth for installation and removal.
Incandescents: Incandescent bulbs give off a warm, natural light & general have 1000 life hours. Unlike standard CLF's & fluorescent lamps, incandescent bulbs can be used with dimmer switches. Though most incandescents can be disposed of with your regular household trash, please recycle them when possible.
